Sad-sack plumbing contractor Doug (James Gandolfini) has been having an affair with a waitress ever since his daughter died. But when the waitress suddenly dies too, he’s off to a New Orleans convention, where he finds hooker/stripper Mallory (Kristen Stewart) and decides to play father figure. Standard enough stuff, but what makes the movie better than average are the antics of Doug’s agoraphobic wife Lois (Melissa Leo) back home.

The Bigger Picture: “Kristen Stewart as a hooker, directed by the son of Ridley Scott” sounds like a Hollywood pitch any studio would buy, and it may well lure copious amounts of lustful lads into the theater. Paris Hilton is set to release her second album, which is inspired by her musical icon Kylie Minogue.

The socialite is preparing to release her as-yet-untitled album – a follow up to her 2006 debut, Paris.

And the hotel heiress has insisted that she has taken inspiration from ‘Spinning Around’ hitmaker Minogue in the hope her second release will be a bigger hit with fans.

“My record is in production now. I recently finished recording it. It’s very like dance, club music,” the Daily Star quoted her as telling Heat magazine.

“I really have always loved Kylie Minogue – she’s one of my favourite artists. I’ve just been really inspired by her. I just wanted to kind of emulate her. I just kind of love her sound and I love the way she is, so I was inspired by her and the album’s going to be out in a couple of months,” she added. Newstrack India

Leona Lewis has abandoned a planned tour of Australia, Asia and Europe. The Bleeding Love singer is struggling to deal with her split from childhood sweetheart Lou Al-Chamaa.

The 25-year-old, who found fame after winning the X Factor, battled to get through the UK leg of her tour after splitting with her boyfriend of 10 years.

She’s decided to get back into the studio to record songs for the deluxe edition of Echo and her third album, according to the Sunday Mirror.

Tom Cruise is reportedly in talks to give the world a glimpse into his life with wife Katie Holmes as part of a TV documentary.

The Hollywood actor has been a regular in the gossip columns ever since he began dating the former Dawson’s Creek star, but the celebrity couple has managed to keep most of the details of their romance private.

Cruise is now said to be considering opening up their marriage by releasing footage he filmed of his wife and their young daughter, Suri, and is in talks with TV bosses about a possible show, according to Grazia magazine.

A source tells the publication, “He’s been filming Katie and other aspects of his life for the past month. The original impetus was that he would select a few personal clips to show fans, but word has got out through his agents (CAA) and he is currently fielding offers from entertainment companies.
